About Winter Park
Winter Park is known as Denver’s Playground. It is only 90 minutes from the city, just over Berthoud Pass off Highway 40…it’s where ”Colorado locals” go to experience skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, golf, river rafting, concerts and so much more! Powder skiing and the backcountry challenges of the nearly 3,000 skiable acres of Winter Park Resort, combined with the resort’s shops, clubs, and restaurants offer a family-friendly hub with plenty of things for everyone to do (including ice skating on the lake). But when the snow-capped peaks melt away to flowing rivers and lush valleys, it’s easy to forget that Winter Park is best known for its skiing. Mid-June through September, Winter Park turns into a summer playground with camping, mountain biking, gondola rides and an alpine slide, just to name a few of the many warm weather activities offered.
